A Day in the Life of ... Ben, Hayley and Helen

Class of 2012 – Ben, Hayley and Helen

We started working at the brewery on September 2012 and have just finished our second job placements. We started with a month-long induction, meeting everybody from the chairman to our new managers and spending days in our business such as delivering beer with the dray men and working behind the bar in some of our pubs. This month was invaluable, as we not only got a thorough understanding of the business, but also developed friendships with each other that have helped us with the big change to working life over the past year.

After this month, we each went onto our first placements: Ben in Operations and Brewing, Hayley as an Environmental Analyst and Helen to Marketing. Six months later, we all changed places and picked up projects from one another.

At the end of the first year, we have all learned an enormous amount about the company and working life. Being able to do this whilst having the support from two other people who are in the same situation as you is a huge bonus.

While we’ve covered the same rotations as each other, each placement changes depending on your expertise and personality. Here at Fuller’s, a huge emphasis is placed on you as a person, tailoring your job to get the best of you. This, teamed with a close relationship with the Training and Development team, means that we have adapted and taken to working life extremely smoothly. We are now looking forward to welcoming our two new graduates, Ed and Jenny, at the start of September!
