Aston will celebrate its 50th year as a university in 2016 with a newly landscaped campus that is attracting more students than ever. Gone are the last of the 1970s buildings and facilities, replaced by modern and spacious student accommodation, open green spaces and the remodelled Chancellor’s Lake.
Applications are up by more than a third in two years, enabling Aston to take 40% more undergraduates in 2014 than 2011. Ahead of clearing this year, Aston’s website was advertising the university as a place to “trade up” to for those with results better than expected.
