University College London

In the top two for research grant funding and in the bottom eight for student satisfaction, UCL only just clings on to its place among the elite top 10 in our league table this year.

In common with many universities in the capital, it struggles in the National Student Survey (NSS). Indeed, only three institutions – all of them in London – have lower levels of satisfaction with the quality of teaching and feedback provided by academics in the latest NSS result published in August.
