University of Edinburgh

Edinburgh produced Scotland’s best performance in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (Ref), but continuing problems with student satisfaction leave it well behind St Andrews in our table and outside the top 20 overall in our league table.

Just four institutions in the UK have a lower score than Edinburgh’s 74.5% for the new teaching quality element of our analysis of last month’s National Student Survey. Overall, Edinburgh ranks 115 out of 127 universities in our league table for student. satisfaction, an improvement of eight places on last year but still well below the level the university would like to see.
