Look after your own future. And the rest of the UK’s will follow.
Undergraduates are an idealistic group of people, on the whole. We love that here at Waste Recycling Group (WRG). Some employers might want you to move on once you graduate, change your attitudes, become more dispassionate about the ways of the world, but not us. The fact that you’re fired-up to make a difference is exactly the reason we’re interested in you. Because it’s with people like you at the helm of businesses like ours that the UK will become a greener, more self-sustaining place offering a brighter future for all.

Operating 58 landfill sites, 28 transfer stations, 11 composting sites and 70 household waste recycling centres, our business is continually changing shape as the UK continues to alter its habits for the better. Through innovation, service and expertise – cornerstones of our approach – we’re committed to working with local authority partners as well as customers to respond to the complex strategic requirements of our industry. We currently operate across four major areas. Join us and you’ll be in at the start of a series of gradually shifting priorities, new technologies and innovative ideas that will change our society. Those four areas are:
Landfill disposal
The safe, responsible disposal of waste to landfill will continue to underpin our activities, however there is a growing acknowledgement that the balance between it and alternative forms of waste treatment has to change. We’re going all out to help customers to make those changes.
Energy recovery
Recovering the potential value locked-up in the waste we generate is crucial in achieving sustainability and driving waste up the hierarchy. We’re continually developing facilities to capture energy from waste by safe and effective thermal processes.
Waste treatment
We have a dedicated business able to respond to the needs of its commercial customers for the treatment of hazardous and problematic wastes.
Reception and recycling
The business manages a network of household waste recycling sites on behalf of our local authority customers. The sites area well-used and cost-effective element of a local authority’s waste management strategy.
