About PwC

We help our clients and our people create the value they want. We work alongside our clients – from public and private companies to governments and charities – to measure, protect and enhance the things that matter most to them. We have big ambitions to grow, and if you're serious about a career in business, we don't think anyone else can give you a better start. Students agree: we’re proud, based on the opportunity we offer, they’ve voted us number one in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers survey for the last eight years.

What we offer

Get a unique insight into what we offer on one of our Insight programmes for undergraduates. Develop valuable business skills, discover where your strengths and interests lie and gain the kind of industry experience that could open all sorts of doors for you.

First year undergraduates

Insight Day Pick up loads of information about our work and decide which of our career options interests you most on this highly interactive day.

Insight Academy Lasting for 3 days, this programme for first-year undergraduates will boost your employability skills and give your career a jump start. You could also land an internship or business placement the next year.

Insight Partner Shadowing Find out what it takes to make it to the very top in a firm like ours. On this programme, open to all undergraduates, you’ll shadow one of our partners for a week. Impress us and you could well earn a place on our insight or graduate programmes.

Penultimate year undergraduates

Insight Internships If you’re in your penultimate year, build your skills and your confidence by working alongside specialists in your chosen business area for six weeks during the summer. There might be a chance to pick up some international experience in an overseas practice and you could even go back to university with a firm graduate job offer.

Insight Business Placements Work on real projects, learn about our business, get exposure to a prestigious client list and start working towards a professional qualification. These six and eleven-month placements in Assurance or Financial Advisory are for students who need to complete a placement as part of their degree and could lead to a full-time job offer.

Final year students

In short, this is your chance to enjoy a huge variety of experiences, develop an enormous breadth of skills and build relationships that will stay with you throughout your life. As well as exposing you to many different clients, projects, roles and business areas, our graduate programme offers exceptional training and development opportunities, plus of course support towards a professional qualification. Like all PwC people, you can also look forward to a competitive salary and a personally tailored benefits package. We have full time opportunities for graduates in each of our business areas; Assurance, Consulting, Tax, Financial Advisory, Actuarial and Technology.

What you need

  • A 2:1 or above in any degree discipline
  • A UCAS tariff of at least 300 (or equivalent)

Equally important will be your ability to build relationships, to put yourself in others’ shoes and make a positive impact on our clients and us, while shaping your own future.

Exceptional exam results or exceptional potential?

Of course you’ll need to be bright to hold your own here. That’s why we look for a 2:1 or above plus at least a 300 UCAS tariff. But maybe you don’t have the grades we’re after because you’ve invested time in extra-curricular activities that show you’re exceptional. If so, you could still join us. ‘Inspired Talent’ is a new entry route that recognises exam results aren’t the only way to prove you have potential.

Diversity and inclusion at PwC

At PwC we know that sustaining our leading market position depends on unlocking the innovation, creativity and potential of everyone who works here.

The basis of our diversity strategy is recognising all the ways in which people are different, both visibly - for example in gender or ethnicity - and subliminally, in ways such as social or educational background, or personality. Our diversity is our strength, driving business performance and success. It is an integral part of our strategy for competing in the current and future marketplace.

Working at PwC means being part of a high performing team delivering excellent service to our clients. We perform best by harnessing the collective and complementary skills, knowledge, backgrounds and networks of a rich mix of people who work together in an environment that is fully inclusive and totally respecting of individuals.

Our commitment to diversity and equality extends beyond our own people to the communities in which we operate, driven partly by our social responsibility as a large employer and partly by our business need to continue attracting talented people into our firm and encouraging them to stay.

Actions being taken

We have in place a number of programmes aimed at delivering our long term aim of creating a culture of inclusion. All partners and staff undertaken mandatory Diversity & Equality e-learning, aimed at ensuring that all our people are aware of the effect their actions and behaviours could have on others. Furthermore, specific e-learning on diversity and bias awareness called Open Mind has been developed and launched to all UK staff for them to complete as part of their mandatory compliance training. The aim of this learning is to encourage individuals to take personal responsibility for creating an inclusive working environment by being aware of the impact of bias on their relationships, by acknowledging situations where they could be more open-minded to difference and by motivating them to take action to be more open-minded and do something different.

We have 12 People Networks, each is sponsored by a member of the Board and they are run by a team of volunteers, who build their network involvement into their personal objectives and development and are given time away from client work to action initiatives.

Networks include:

  • PwCwomen
  • FPD Network - Female Partner and Directors
  • Multicultural Business Network
  • GALE - the network for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender partners and staff
  • PwC Muslims
  • PwC Christians
  • Hindu Network
  • Jewish Network
  • Sikh Network
  • Parents Network
  • Disability Network
  • Carers Network

In addition, our Accessibility Team focuses on the needs of people with disabilities and works to ensure that the firm is accessible to all our clients and staff. There is particular focus on our people practices, properties, facilities and technology.

To support our diversity agenda we are members of the following:

  • Opportunity Now  - the gender campaign from Business In the  Community (BiTC)
  • Race for Opportunity  - the race campaign from BiTC
  • Employers Forum on Disability
  • Stonewall - the leading lesbian and gay equality organisation and PwC is a Stonewall Diversity Champion.

We are also a member of Employers for Carers, partnering with the public, private and voluntary sectors as well as Government departments to address a wide range of issues affecting carers who work and want to work.
