How is CIMA different?
Eager to kick off your career as a financially qualified business leader and progress quickly? A professional qualification with CIMA is the best preparation for an international career in business. Most accountancy qualifications train people for private practice, working on external audit and tax issues. CIMA is different. It’s rooted in real world business needs, preparing people like you to take your place in the action packed world of UK and international business.

What is management accountancy?
Management accountants don’t fit the stereotype of number crunchers. In fact quite the opposite. Chartered Management Accountants are at the heart of all strategic decisions that are key to business success. They work out how much and how many and get results by looking at trends and behavior. Ever wondered who decides on the price per song on iTunes and how? Or why festival tickets work out more expensive for one day than the whole weekend? They operate in all types of organisations, often having top jobs with many going on to run their own business.

What are the entry routes?
Studying CIMA after university is a strong career move. It can enhance your degree and strengthen your employment prospects.

CIMA is the natural progression for people with finance and business degrees. If you have already studied a relevant degree or qualification, you may be entitled to exemptions from some CIMA exams. Find out which CIMA exams you may be exempt from here.

You don’t however need a relevant degree to start your CIMA studies. Graduates in other disciplines will start by studying the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, which will give you a solid grounding to then progress on to the CIMA Professional Qualification, joining the ranks of international business leaders that have gone before you.

If you fancy earning while you learn, there are many employers who will sponsor you to study the CIMA Professional Qualification. Visit CIMA MY GRADUATE JOBS to land that first graduate job.
