What is everyone's top 5 factors when choosing a job role??!!  It would be really interesting to know what makes a job important to each person.

Mine is:

1) Job you enjoy (i.e. the work is really interesting and what I want to do)

2) The people I work with (you are with them a lot of the time!)

3) Career progression

4) Location

5) Drinks after work! i.e. social life/activities after work

I think these factors also change depending on what phase of your career you are in. For a first job growth, training and career progress are crucial in my opinion. But the social side of work (think 1,2 and 5 are all linked to each other) is also very important. You can work in an area you are very interested in, but if the company or co-workers dont match, you're prob not going to enjoy coming to work... which inevitably will influence how good you are at your work too...

Work hard, play hard is the right motto I guess...

I would say that at this stage of my career, career progression's very important to me. All these factors contribute to what I would look for in a job, but as I move through my career, it's likely that my priorities will change. I'm hoping that when I have the experience built up, number 1 will be the most important.
