Seathestar,
maybe you can just google it and find some free tests?
When I had to do numerical and verbal tests, I found several free online through google. Just practice as much as you can, that is the only thing that helps I think!
Good luck!

There is a whole load of information about these types of tests online. Your first port of call should be http://www.graduate-consulting.com/Applications/online-tests ... There are links to practise tests, hints, examples and if you look around the site; detailed information on SHL, PSL, GTIOS and all sorts of test information.
Good luck!

I think I might take a look at that site later on. The main thing that can get on my nerves a bit, is that they don't randomize the tests on some websites. You get the same numerical practice test you just took, so how are you supposed to get any better if you continuously practice the same test? SHL's test is like this.
Also, will there ever be a time were organisations will see that graduates/interns don't need to be filtered out by using numerical tests? Some tests are actually very difficult, even for my friends that are engineers (known for their great maths skills!). I'm in Marketing, and admittedly, my internship requires more data handling that actual maths problems needing to be worked out. So why not cater the tests to the position?
Numerical tests baffle me sometimes, but I guess when you are a recruiter for a bit corporation, you want your new interns/grads to be strong in all areas, and therefore get the pick of the best!

I'm glad I din't have to day any of those tests for my job. I remeber I did some when I registered for a job agency once and I the results were ok, but I'm guessing there is a jump up in the level of diificult for more specialist jobs!

Numerical tests are used as a way to filter students. Big companies get so many applications there simply has to be a way to filter people. It may mean they miss out on the odd gem who isn't good at maths, but they still do it as they still end up with a lot of great candidates. Its only GCSE maths anyway, and any grad worth their salt should be able to pass them with enough practice and working out the way the questions are asked etc.
As for the original poster on this thread, i fear for you if your first port of call for help on numerical tests is this forum rather than doing a search on google for free practice tests.... Also try investing in a GCSE maths textbook. Not a lot people on here can do, these days you have to help yourself!
