Taking an internship is definitely a good step in getting on the ladder to a dream profession.  But how many of you completed an internship or placement and realised it was not what you wanted to do?!  Did you find this helpful or felt it was a waste of time?   

I undertook and left an internship at a local paper after realsing the avenue was not for me.  I do not regret having undertaken the internship as it opened my eyes as to what exactly I did wish to do.  In a way the unsuccesful experience taught me to try different avenues.

Good that you tried it and realised you didn't like but still value the experience.  What didn't you like about the job/industry?!
