As a Graduate Software Engineer, after an initial 4 week classroom based training period you will be working on key production systems, ensuring FactSet’s financial information products are always available, fast, reliable and scalable; continually searching for improvements, solving complex issues and working on new innovative products and services.

Our teams in London work with some of the core parts of our product suite that include real time systems, messaging, content integration, data services, key infrastructure and analysis applications / tools. Software Engineers at FactSet drive reliability, performance, usability and innovation in our products and applications that are a core part of the Global Investment Market. The solutions you will find will require high levels of original thinking and creativity. We work on a variety of platforms (Windows, Linux) and in a number of core languages (C++, C#, JavaScript, Perl) to build robust and well-designed solutions, and thus we look to recruit not just programmers but “true” Software Engineers.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Ongoing review of system design and architecture.
  • Coding for new releases, fixes and enhancements within a structured environment (including test driven development and agile approaches).
  • Managing scalability, availability, efficiency, usability and performance of our systems, applications, databases and software services.
  • Software performance analysis and system tuning.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related degree.
  • Fluency in an object orientated language (ideally C++, C# or JavaScript) and familiarity with a scripting language such as Shell, Python, PHP or Perl.
  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness to handle periodic on-call duties.
