XPO Logistics is a top ten global provider of transport, logistics and freight forwarding solutions, the company employs 87,000 people across 1,440 locations in 33 countries across Europe, America and Asia, and places sustainable development at the heart of all its activities.

The goal of the organisation is to combine strong growth and profitability by increasing its size internationally, widening its range of services and integrating sustainable development into its activities.

To do that we need the right people, who are fully committed, highly motivated and innovative, because customers expect us to offer intelligent ways to add value.

Fast Track Talent Programme (FTTP)

XPO Logistics is committed to attracting the brightest and best individuals, and our Fast Track Talent Programme (FTTP) provides such graduates with a stepping stone to an exciting and diverse career.

As a company who strives for excellence in all that we do, we demand a lot from our people and, in return, we provide opportunities for continuous development and career progression – plus a great place to work and a salary to match!

What do I need to be considered for the FTTP?

You don’t necessarily need a logistics or transport-related degree, but you do need an interest in how supply chains work.

Whilst relevant experience is preferred, the attitude and personality you bring to the role is much more important. You’ll need bags of enthusiasm, be a logical thinker and possess the ability to combine social skills and energy with common sense and judgement. Essentially, we need people who can complete tasks and lead teams.

What does the FTTP entail?

This is a two year programme consisting of four six-month placements in different areas of the business such as warehousing, transport, planning, business development and support services. You’ll be working with some well-known household names including Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Vauxhall Motors and ASOS, so you can be assured of a varied role.

In the first year you’ll gain operational experience in both the Logistics and Transport divisions. In year two we’ll develop a bespoke programme depending on your specific area of interest, and you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in projects and support functions.

There is even the opportunity to work overseas, or with some of our customers on a secondment basis.

You’ll receive first-class training whilst on the FTTP to further develop your leadership and project management skills. This includes the International Certificate in Professional Competence (CPC) and the Management Development Programme (MDP). Both provide graduates with the opportunity to achieve nationally recognised qualifications.

Where does the FTTP lead?

Throughout the programme we are looking to cultivate our leaders and managers of tomorrow. Following successful completion of the Fast Track Talent Programme, you’ll have a good idea of which area of logistics you’d like to work in and we’ll support you to find a role in our business.
