You’ll join our fast paced Digital Services and Technology directorate. There, you’ll discover great freedom and fantastic opportunities to shape ideas that will improve our organisation. Making meaningful changes through digital tech, you’ll work with a range of service users and suppliers.

How it works

The first six months: you’ll gain experience across a range of different roles, so you can choose the role that best suits your skills and interests. The next six to nine months: having chosen your role, you’ll benefit from a structured mentoring programme and increasing levels of personal responsibility. You’ll then be able to take on full roles, with ongoing training. These are our roles:

Developers work together to design, create and improve products, platforms and transactions.

Testers use a range of specialist tools and techniques to assess the effectiveness of software.

Web Operations Engineers help to design, automate and operate infrastructure and applications.

User Interface Designers define and design services that successfully meet the needs of users.

User Researchers produce the insight which ensures service experiences focus on users’ needs.

What you’ll need

We’ll expect you to have (or expect to gain) a 2:1 or above in a computing, science or engineering degree subject. A team player with great communication and organisational skills, plus a strong focus on meeting customers’ needs, you are enthusiastic, ambitious and hungry to learn. With an open mind, you welcome change, relish opportunities to improve, and constantly strive to innovate.
