What Will I Do on the Summer Internship Programme?
You will have a unique opportunity to gain an internship at a leading, performance-driven, global investment management business. Successful candidates will spend 10 weeks working in our investment management and sales teams.
As one of our interns you will gain a comprehensive introduction to our business. At the end of the programme, successful interns will receive offers to join the graduate programme the following year. Formal and on-the-job training will be provided to enable you to contribute to the business. You will also have direct access to Man Group’s senior leadership team, as each intern will be mentored by a member of the Executive Committee.
In the words of our recent interns:
“I feel that my work has been valued and that I have contributed meaningfully to the teams I’ve been working with, which is satisfying and not always the case with intern work.”
“In terms of support from everyone at AHL Commodities I feel that they’ve gone above and beyond to support me technology wise and conceptually with all of my projects.”
“I particularly appreciate the level of responsibility and freedom I was given from the start. I felt motivated by being able to set my own goals and I found the work I performed challenging and stimulating.”
“The breadth and diversity of the work I have been set has been particularly good; I feel that I have had exposure to different sectors and investing styles.”
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in FRM and I am very pleased with the work that I have been able to produce; it was particularly satisfying to know that the work was actually of use to the business rather than ‘things to keep the intern busy’.”
How Do I Apply?
Step 1: Click “Register and Apply” (or “Login and Apply” if you have previously registered on Man Group’s website) in order to apply for the graduate programme
Step 2: Upload 1 document to include:
- your current CV (no cover letter is required)
- your responses to the following three questions, ensuring each answer is no more than 200 words:
- Why do you want to join Man Group’s summer intern programme and why are you interested in working in asset management?
- What key skills do you possess/have you developed which you believe will make you a successful candidate?
- Describe the most challenging experience you have gone through outside of the academic world, what you learned from it and how it differentiates you from your peers?
Applications for 2017 entry must be received by Wednesday 12 October 2016.
You will hear from us by email to confirm whether your application is being progressed. The first stage will be a pre-recorded video interview and answering these questions should take no longer than 20 minutes. This allows us to understand more about you and means you can undertake it at a time convenient to you. The video interviews will be managed by our partner, Sonru and can be completed on any computer with a web cam, or on a smartphone or tablet. Our partner Sonru provides you with a 24 hour support service in order to answer any questions you may have. If you are new to video interviewing, please rest assured that it is an easy process and your video will be secure and only available to Man Group to review. Candidates invited to a video interview will receive a personalised email containing detailed instructions in due course.
If you are successful at the video interview stage, the second stage will be an assessment day on either 28 or 30 November 2016 at our City office. We will advise you of our decision as quickly as possible following the completion of the process, usually within 48 hours.
