Network Optimisation Management Programme
On our network optimisation management programme, you’ll help us mastermind a national network that employs thousands of frontline staff and delivers to over 29 million addresses in the UK. Over the course of two-years, we’ll introduce you to a fast-changing business, give you structured and specialist training focusing on data analysis, and help you to take the first steps towards an exciting career.
About the programme>
As one of our trainees, you’ll learn everything there is to know about network design, scheduling and optimisation throughout the Royal Mail Group. Much of what you’ll be doing involves looking for trends in data and analysing critical information, so that we can be sure we’re operating as efficiently and effectively as possible. To give you a well-rounded perspective, you’ll complete up to three placements in network design, network scheduling and network planning.
We’ll give you hands-on responsibility from the moment you start, as well as formal management training. It’s all about developing leadership skills, raising your strategic awareness and showing you how to build the foundations for a successful career. Our highly experienced managers will set you performance goals, while a buddy, mentor and HR leads will act as your support network. When you complete the scheme, we’ll work together to decide whether you’re ready to move into a more challenging role within the business.
All of our trainees receive generous benefits, which include an annual bonus (depending on personal and company performance), a pension plan with company contribution; a business laptop and phone, and much more.
What we’re looking for>
This is a role for a highly numerate and computer literate graduate, and we’re looking for a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Geography. You’ll need the confidence to get to grips with the data from an extremely complex organisation and to provide insights based on this. Advanced analytical skills are therefore essential as you’ll be dealing with significant and varied data sets. A talent for programming would also be ideal, but most important is that you’re keen to understand how things work and how they can be improved.
