Graduate Development Programme

  • Lasts for 2 years
  • Become immersed in vital work across our business areas
  • Start building your career at the heart of the economy

You don’t have to be an economist to work at the heart of the UK economy. Our graduate programme is open to applicants from all disciplines, and offers opportunities in a broad range of functions and areas. Wherever you work, you’ll find a real focus on personal development.

The opportunity

Entering a dynamic, challenging and supportive environment, you'll be involved in work that has a significant impact – not only on the Bank, but often on the wider economy too. Once on the programme, you’ll have the entire Bank to explore, so you’ll be able to find a direction that inspires you the most. And whether your preferred stream is Operations, Economist, Risk, Statistics or Technology, we’ll ensure your role is both unique and rewarding.

How you’ll develop

As well tailored training relevant to the area you’re in, you’ll enjoy plenty of access to our leading experts. This culture will also help you build a holistic view of our organisation. Put simply, you'll have all the support and opportunity you need to unlock your full potential.

Who we’re looking for

We’re open to graduates who have achieved, or expect to achieve, a 2:1, with at least 300 UCAS points from three A-levels or equivalent (excluding General Studies). You’ll also need to be a quick learner with strong analytical skills and the readiness to tackle challenging and topical issues head on.

About us

If you want to see the impact of the Bank of England’s work, just look around you. As the central bank of the United Kingdom, we ensure monetary and economic stability for the UK’s economy. This means that the decisions we make shape tomorrow for everyone in the UK. The same goes for the work you’ll be involved in. So get ready to influence work that matters more – and discover where it could take you.
