Through our Abacus Alliance our clients can benefit from relevant customer data, gathered by analysing tens of millions of past transactions. In this way we help our clients reach new customers and win their trust and loyalty.
The Abacus Alliance is a co-operative of over 500 multichannel retail organisations who contribute their customer transactional data with a view to make their marketing campaigns more profitable through data insight.
We also work with Charities, Travel and Tourism and Insurance companies who benefit from the insights from the Abacus Alliance model.
The Abacus Alliance (database) consists of 26m individuals, 18m households, GBP20bn spend and 500m transactions. Our clients discover how using this information can help streamline their marketing strategy, in turn improving effectiveness and return on investment.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To provide modelling and analytical services to the Epsilon Abacus client base.
JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES???.
Build and apply timely and accurate statistical models on behalf of Alliance Members
Liaise with Order Solutions Division to ensure successful fulfilment of client orders
Provide appropriate advice and support to Client Services team, including attendance at internal planning meetings as and when appropriate
Supported by Model Solutions Manager, undertake response analysis of Client Mailing Files and review results provided by Client Services in effort to evaluate Abacus Models
SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES???.
Numerate with excellent attention to detail
Ability to communicate techniques to people with all levels of understanding, in a clear and concise way
Excellent verbal and written communication
Good organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
Analytical skills to extract, interrogate, analyse and make recommendations on future use of the database
Understanding of regression and alternative modelling techniques, such as CHAID, an advantage
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE???.
BSc level degree incorporating Maths or Statistics-related Studies
Ideally a minimum of 12 months experience working with databases comprised of data from multiple sources
Knowledge of direct marketing and the mail order sector desirable
PC literate and a demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office (focus on Excel) software
Experience in the use of UNIX, SAS and/or SPSS desirable
Year experience within an analytical/marketing environment desirable
