Training & Development
When you start your placement here at IBM, you will be joining at the same time as around 50 other students who are all in the same boat as you.  You’ll start your year with a 2 day residential induction where you’ll get to find out more about IBM and how we work.  You’ll also take part in team building exercises with your fellow placement students so this is a great chance to get to know each other.

The training you receive throughout the year, whether it be on the job or classroom training, will focus on 2 areas – business skills and personal skills.  You can choose from the hundreds of training courses that are available and decide which are most appropriate for you to develop new skills.

What we offer
For starters, we offer a salary of £15,000 (pro rata). You’ll also get a sign on bonus of £1000, 25 days holiday and a laptop.   If you like to shop, you’ll be able to take advantage of the IBM Rewards Programme, giving you the opportunity to save money at over 1300 stores.

On the social side, there’s always a lot going on.  We employ hundreds of students and graduates each year so there is a thriving social life and great networking opportunities. There’s a dedicated IBM social club offering everything from discounted weekends away to theatre and theme park trips.   There are sporting teams to get involved with, lots of student networking functions and a dedicated graduate and student newsletters to keep you all update with news about what’s going on.

What we look for
You must be looking to take a year out as part of your degree and be on target for a 1st or 2:1 honours degree.  We welcome international students who have a valid student visa to cover the placement period.
