Refining & Chemicals summer placements
The ExxonMobil Refining and Chemical Placement takes place at Fawley near Southampton from July of each year.
Requirement: Candidates must be in the penultimate year of study as part of their MEng course.
As part of the placement, not only will you have fantastic time and meet lots of new people, but you will also gain a valuable insight into how an engineering organisation works.
You will have a real project to undertake whilst you are on your placement, and can expect to be a member of a social committee responsible for either organising a ball, outings or keeping a video diary of your time with ExxonMobil. You will also go on an outward bounds course in the New Forest.
Gas & Power Marketing summer placements - open
The ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Placement takes place in Leatherhead from July of each year.
Degree Discipline: Engineering or Science related
Location: Leatherhead
Scope of our business
ExxonMobil is the world's largest non-government producer and marketer of equity gas. Total sales volumes amount to over 160 billion cubic metres per year. With operations on five continents and in more than 25 countries, we participate in every major gas market in the world. We have a significant interest in power generation, and manage all ExxonMobil's gas and power needs. We also manage ExxonMobil's worldwide Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) business.
The Role
You will be given a project with direct relevance to and benefit for the business. You will work closely with experienced staff to scope, develop and deliver a project to address a specific business issue - at the end of the project the results will be reviewed by senior management. As an example, some recent projects have involved the creation and implementation of toolkits or optimisation models which have been used by the business to improve efficiency or reduce costs.
Human Resources summer placement - open
The ExxonMobil Human Resources placement takes place in either Leatherhead or Fawley, near Southampton from July to the end of August.
Requirements: Any degree discipline although strong numerical/analytical skills are required.
