Not all maths graduates head for the city
Basic numeracy is fundamental yet many school children can’t count on a decent education. With your maths skills and enthusiasm you could help to change that and transform the lives of young people across the UK.
Through a unique Leadership Development Programme, Teach First will provide you with unparalleled opportunities to develop your potential through skills training, leadership development and exposure to leading organisations across the spectrum of education, business and the third sector.
Teach First is a prestigious graduate employer, recently named 7th in the Times Top 100 Graduate Employers, that places top graduates into a two year leadership development programme. Through the programme, participants become inspiring teachers, leaders, role models and agents of change.
Maths is one of the subjects where we are facing the greatest need. Your energy, enthusiasm and intellect could be the key that enables young people in our schools to see maths as a tool to be used rather than a problem to be avoided.
The charity is enthusiastically backed by a wide range of high-profile supporters in all sectors and by the government e.g. PwC, HSBC, Accenture– because they recognise the skills you develop in the classroom are directly transferable to management careers. They know that if you can engage, manage and stimulate a class of teenagers, you can handle pretty well any situation in any organisation.
‘Teach First are producing leaders of tomorrow– individuals who demonstrate energy, enthusiasm, confidence and imagination. These are attributes we look for in our employees at
Barclays Capital.’ (Barclays Capital - deferred entry partner with Teach First)
Whatever your long term ambitions, Teach First will help you stand out from the crowd. As well as gaining a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) you’ll have the opportunity to pursue a fully-funded Masters qualification and gain access to a network of extensive supporters. This is a full-time paid position for a minimum of two years.
