Vacation schemes
Vacation schemes and open days for law students
We offer up to 50 vacation placements over two highly regarded summer schemes for penultimate year law students. Each scheme is carefully designed to offer students the opportunity to gain exposure to life and work in a global law firm. During the three-week programmes students gain a broad insight into the work of the firm, as their time is split between three of our major sectors. Students get involved in real work with real clients in much the same way as our trainees. This includes drafting, attending meetings, doing legal research and, where possible, attending court. To complement this there is a comprehensive programme of talks, workshops and social events.
Summer vacation students are paid £300 per week.
We also hold a one-week Easter vacation scheme each year for first year law students. This programme is designed to give you an insight into life in a global law firm, and you will have the opportunity to spend time in different practice areas and take part in a number of different workshops and case studies.
Applications for all vacation schemes open on 1 October 2011. The application deadlines are:
Summer vacation schemes - 31 January 2012
Easter vacation scheme - 15 February 2012
Open days for non-law students
We also hold two-day open events throughout the academic year for final year non-law students and non-law graduates, where students have the opportunity to gain a detailed insight into the life and work of a lawyer at Hogan Lovells and take part in interactive workshops, presentations and spend time work-shadowing some of our current trainee solicitors.
Information on the dates and application deadlines for these events can be found on our graduate recruitment website. All applications open on 1 October 2011.
