Our one week ‘taster’ programme is a chance for students to build their knowledge of what we can offer and gain vital work experience. You don’t need any prior knowledge of the finance industry; in fact, we encourage students from all academic backgrounds to apply.
As the UK’s leading corporate bank, we work predominantly with high profile businesses with turnover in excess of £25million. We manage over 5,000 corporate clients and our primary goal is to support companies in achieving their financial and strategic objectives. By joining us in one of our UK offices, you can expect to gain an understanding of a variety of lending products and cash management solutions whilst working closely with business partners across the wider RBS Group.
The programme, which takes place over the Easter break, includes induction and technical training as well as rotations on various desks within your chosen business division. You will also get the chance to attend various networking events, engage with senior executives and build invaluable business relationships.
We’ll also involve you in assessment tasks, most likely an interview and presentation to assess whether you are suitable for a position on our summer internship programme. In fact, 70% of our interns last year were offered places on one of our summer internships this year so it’s a great head start.
