Milkround News, 18 January 2012
Are you a budding photographer looking to get your images seen? If so, you could get your photographs published on Milkround in a commercial environment.
We're looking to add more photographic imagery to our Milkround website, opening the door to student and graduate photographers to get their work into the public domain.
A set of style guidelines are below and if you have pictures which fit our guidelines, you could see your pictures featured on the UK's most widely-used graduate recruitment website.
Sadly we cannot offer a cash incentive, however we will provide a credit on every page your photography features as well as endorse your skills to potential employers. You can also add being published on Milkround to your CV and online profiles!
What you get
- Your photos published on Milkround.
- Endorsement from Milkround for use of your images.
- A credit for use of your images on site on each page they feature.
- Crucial experience to be used on your CV and online profiles
Style guidelines
We're after photos from you that capture the modern way we all work. We all spend a lot of time grafting in our jobs and at uni but here at Milkround we find it's not often that these real scenes are captured in attractive and natural photography. We are putting out the challenge to capture what modern work is all about.
Whether you are on an internship, work in a coffee shop, volunteer with a charity, are on a grad scheme or a post-grad course get snapping. Capture the hum of the office, the buzz of the call centre, the action at the library. Frame photos of you and your colleagues working on a project, your fellow students at a lecture or behind the scenes at your waiting job. We're interested in seeing the differences between all the graduate industries in particular.
It's important that the photos are of real people in real situations that our audience can relate to. They should convey real experiences rather than staged events so we'll be looking for natural composition.
Some technical points
- images to be supplied as .jpg files
- images should be saved at 72dpi, minimum 1500px on the shortest side
- images must be in colour
If you have images you feel would be suitable for Milkround, please email us a link to your flickr account to review the pictures or send the files themselves to studentview@milkround.com. If you are emailing several photos direct to us please ensure they are compressed or a reduced size.
Good luck and we look forward to posting the best shots!
