Accounting
Accountants need to be numerate and work in a logical and methodical manner. Recruiters will also expect applicants to demonstrate an active interest in business and finance. Strong personal and communication skills are also essential, since a large proportion of accountancy work is involved with explaining complex financial data, often to non-numerate clients or colleagues. Key qualities for this painstaking work are strong analytical skills, teamwork and patience as the hours can be long!

Auditing
As a strong Maths based career, numeracy skills are essential. The work is very methodical so you need to be meticulous and accurate with your work.Strong communication skills are needed as often you will need to interview people to gain information, collect this data and then report back to people who may not necessarily have your numerical understanding. The role is becoming a lot more IT based with more and more software packages being developed to help examine and analyse the financial records as well as their financial systems being computer based so strong IT skills may be required.
