More than half of the people interviewed for a job found online are successful, a survey of 37,000 jobseekers reveals.
The National Online Recruitment Audience Survey (NORAS) provides a snapshot of how the UK’s 12 million online jobseekers search and apply for work. Emailing a CV is the most popular way to apply for a job, with 38 percent choosing to do so, closely followed by completing an online application form with 31 percent.
The success rate of online applicants getting the job they applied for when called for interview has risen, up to 56 percent from 44 percent three years ago. Full-time permanent work dominates the online job market, with 62 percent of jobseekers looking for such a role, 18 percent seeking full-time contract or interim positions and just 13 percent wanting a part-time job.
Tim Elkington, of NOAS manager Enhance Media, said: “Online recruitment is more successful than ever before. More people are applying for jobs and getting interviews and, of these, over half are now going on to get a job.”
