Engineers work across the manufacturing industry in a variety of roles which all require a high level of training and a strong understanding of design, the manufacturing process, materials and interpreting information. Much of the industry is based around effective management so it to take on the bigger roles it will be necessary to have excellent analytical ability, be able to organise workloads, plan projects and direct with confidence and as well as have strong interpersonal skills.Away from the more obvious roles, designers need to be innovative and inventive in their approaches while working in sales requires marketing, negotiating and selling skills.
