Sky is a broadcasting company, which reaches 10 million households in the UK and Ireland. In addition to its multi-platform television service, the company also has internet and telecoms operations.

Sky was founded in 1989 and merged with rival broadcaster BSB to form BSkyB in 1990. Today the company has 16,500 staff, and last year made a profit of £1 billion. Sky’s head office is in Isleworth, west London.

This year, Sky launched Anytime+ video on demand TV, taken 3D TV into UK homes, launched Sky Atlantic and Sky Living channels and committed to doubling the amount of own commissioned programming.
