King's College London

King's College London

King’s is to rent the iconic Bush House, the former headquarters of the BBC World Service, opposite its Strand campus, in order to upgrade its teaching facilities and make room for a fast-growing student population.
King’s has been one of the Russell Group institutions to take greatest advantage of the relaxation of recruitment restrictions: the annual intake of undergraduates has grown by 30% – more than 1,000 students – in three years. With applications continuing to rise, there is scope to continue. The college was going to make further changes to its campus with the demolition of Georgian and Victorian buildings on the Strand, but withdrew its application after protests from conservationists.
