We are Laing O'Rourke. We design, manufacture, engineer and build iconic buildings and complex infrastructure projects used by millions of people every day. We're challenging the industry with innovative design and delivery techniques. We're changing the way we work, using the very latest digital tools and platforms. And we're always looking to create structures that will help build a better future for everyone. We are proud to work on some of the most prestigious projects in the UK, from Europe's largest infrastructure programme, Crossrail, to Manchester Airport Terminal 2 expansion, Hinkley Point C and Edinburgh St James shopping complex.
We're looking for bright and committed Estimators who will challenge thinking, change the world around us, and help create amazing buildings and infrastructure.

Our programme will give you the practical experience, technical learning and professional development so that you can be part of the some of the most exciting future construction and infrastructure projects globally.
THE WORLD OF ESTIMATING
Our projects are worth millions of pounds, sometimes hundreds of millions of pounds. Imagine the number of components involved, the sheer scale of materials required and the resources we need to build the structure. Estimating all of that is what we do. It requires us to research materials,
equipment, labour costs and suppliers. We need to look at the timescales and risks, prices, exchange rates and work schedules. It’s a complex but fascinating area of work.
IS THIS YOU?
We expect you to have a real interest in every aspect of the construction process, as well as good commercial sense. This work means looking at lots of data and getting to grips with so many different areas of construction, but also working with teams and suppliers from the bidding and buying process right through the project.
WHAT TO STUDY?Maths and Science are important to becoming an estimator, both at GCSE and A level. But you’ll also need good IT and planning skills.
We are looking for School and College Leavers who meet the following criteria:
