Brand Marketing Assistant

12-month student placement - only for candidates on a year placement within their degree.

1. Goals

Provide assistance to support activities and drive results. Be a positive, supportive and communicative team member, hitting deadlines, reliability and taking ownership of workload is critical.

2. Fields of play

The role broadly splits into two:

i) Social Media (40% of role)

Monitor, and maintain the running of ASICSUK, and ASICSTIGER twitter feeds

  • Act as administrator for UK twitter feed; working within brand guidelines
  • Create a weekly plan of activity and feeds
  • Be coordinator for global social media directives and post as required
  • Maintain the site, and react as needed (with approval); including consumer questions or issues
  • Monitor ASICS posts for performance and lifestyle categories
  • Monitor other social media channels and make recommendations for coverage
  • Create a monthly tracker, and build recommendation plan
  • Create a monthly competitor report and review of best practice
  • Monitor analytics for the site and create a monthly report

ii) Lifestyle Marketing Support (50% of role)

Free Issues & Samples

Take ownership of the samples and free issue process in the following areas;

  • New season samples – sample organisation; itemise. Issue to PR agency for media selling. Track until returned
  • Understand internal procedures and processes, working within these to arrange items dispatch from DCW
  • Organise the monthly free issue tracking report; process free Issues keeping a log of costs for budget purposes
  • Become a competent user of Navision (internal system)

ASICS Showrooms - Lifestyle

  • Take ownership of Warrington & Londonshowrooms to ensure display and merchandising is maintained. Complete daily check that room being cared for
  • Support the seasonal updates of showrooms. Change graphics and selling stories as required. (connect with Lifestyle Trade Mktg Mgr)

Seasonal Photography & Imagery

  • Coordinate downloads of all campaign advertising imagery
  • Coordinate lifestyle marketing needs for imagery and product downloads for issue to retailers by trade team
  • Create seasonal catalogues as guided by Lifestyle Marketing Manager

AUK Marketing Reporting

· Gather information on lifestyle category and maintain reporting

  • AUK monthly update
  • Ad Hoc success & feedback reports
  • Internal Information boards
  • Market Intelligence reports / competitor reporting / retailer reporting

Lifestyle Trade Marketing Support

  • Liaise with retailers providing imagery updates
  • Monitor retailer websites for branding compliance and visibility. Make recommendations for updates. Ensure imagery is updated

iii) Brand Marketing Support (10% of role)

Consumer Letters ref Marketing

  • Consumer letters & correspondence – be the main marketing contact and reply as suitable / briefing given

Retailer Newsletter

  • Coordinate the monthly newsletter with input from across the business. Develop and issue using mailchimp software. Create quarterly reports to review performance. Sign off from Marketing Manager.

4. Job Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

  • University degree student (Business or marketing degree preferred)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office to intermediate standard
  • Preferred understanding of mailchimp software (not essential)
  • Preferred use of Adobe Creative Suite

Additional Information

Travel within the UK will be involved, so a full driving licence will be essential.

Flexibility in working hours may be needed to accommodate travel.
