The Finance Assistant will be reporting to Head of Finance and Operations. You will be involved in monitoring the flow of all the cash transactions, ensuring the proper entry, verifying the accuracy of financial records, assisting in report generation.

Entry/Grades required

  • Three A-Levels at grades A*-C (or 240 UCAS points) are preferred.
  • Five GCSE grades C – A* (or 4-9), including Maths and English B grade at Maths GCSE.
  • Ideally, we are looking for recent school leavers (college/sixth form/ secondary school) and non-graduates for the role.

Location: near Goodge Street station and Tottenham Court Road station, London.

Full job description (including responsibilities)

  • Set up electronic payments for approval ensuring complete and accurate records of all transactions are maintained.
  • Ensure expenses submitted are in line with policy.
  • Process purchase invoices, ensuring costs are allocated correctly and monitored.
  • Proactively track cost increases, and come up with initiatives for cost reductions escalating and presenting to Head of Finance.
  • Generate invoices as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date management reports and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Ad-hoc project work as and when required.

Hours: 9 am to 6 pm, Monday-Friday


Accounting Standard.
As part of your WhiteHat Apprenticeship, you will have access to our Future Leaders Foundation modules to develop 6 key competencies, underpinned by well-being, self-awareness, motivation, conscientiousness, effectiveness, grit.

Future Prospects

A full-time opportunity may be available if the candidate excels in the role.
After your Accounting apprenticeship progress into a full-time role as Junior Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Bookkeeping Assistant, Junior Tax Consultant or Audit Assistant. You can also complete the ACCA qualification into Chartered Accountancy.

Skills required

  • Thorough organisational skills with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Confidence in using Google Sheets/Microsoft Office, ideally Microsoft Excel (experience of intermediate formulas e.g. VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IFERROR is a plus but not required).
  • A strong work ethic and shared values.
  • Demonstrates confidentiality.
  • Interest in technology and video.
