Graduate Test Development Engineer

Graduate Engineers will be given the opportunity to work in a challenging and dynamic technical environment, working as part of a small team of engineers developing test solutions for state-of-the-art Radio Frequency (RF) and electro-optical products.. They will be introduced to the development processes utilising state-of-the-art methods, technology and tools. Graduate engineers are encouraged to gain experience of all aspects of the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, applied research and test.
Graduates applying for this position should expect to focus in the area of Test System Design which utilises skills chiefly in the electronics and electro-optical arenas, but also in the area of the National Instruments LabVIEW toolset.

Key Responsibility Areas

To actively participate in the 2 year graduate programme learning the skills required for test solution development. This includes developing practical skills in advanced design techniques for RF, digital and optical applications, the understanding of key technologies and developing experience using the LabVIEW toolset.

Graduate engineers will generally report to a Lead Engineer who will provide them with day to day guidance and training. Most training will be delivered via on the job experience whilst working on real production hardware within project groups delivering high tech systems to our customers. Additional formal technical training to augment the on the job training will be provided via taught courses, dependent upon the business need and also on career direction of the individual.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

All our roles require predicted minimum of an upper second class honours degree in a relevant discipline. (Electronic Engineering) or a higher degree such as a MEng, MSc. or PhD.

You must be able to satisfy the necessary security clearance for the role applied for and meet a minimum of 5 years permanent residency in the UK.

Candidates are required to demonstrate personal ownership and responsibility for their work, team working skills and technical excellence.

You should be self-motivated, resourceful, and tenacious, with the ability to utilise creative problem solving skills in the resolution of challenges.

The successful candidate will have a confident outgoing personality with the stature and presence to hold his/her own in a challenging operational environment.
