We have an opportunity for a talented graduate to join our client's Engineering team on a full-time and permanent basis, based in their London office

The employer:

Our client is an integrated, London-based transport consultancy, Momentum Transport Planning. They are working on some of the most exciting and challenging planning and infrastructure projects, as well as large sport stadia and major events projects in London, Europe and across the world. Through their transport modelling we aim to create forward-thinking and smart designs for people, by using a combination of bespoke static modelling and micro-simulation modelling techniques.

Their clients include major developers, architects and contractors; they include Landsec, The London Legacy Development Corporation, British Land, Delancey, Grosvenor, Segro, Brockton Capital, Brookfield, Mace, Multiplex and Mount Anvil. As well as our London-based development planning work, we have undertaken, we have recently expanded into Montreal and have undertaken projects in San Francisco, Moscow, Baku, Barcelona, Hong Kong, Ashgabat, Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.

The opportunity:

Our client strongly believes in giving our junior members of the team training, responsibility and opportunities they need to develop, and their bespoke business of 33 staff means that all of their team are exposed to a wide variety of interesting project work and clients.

The successful candidate would undertake highway design work using AutoCAD software and have exposure to a range of projects, working on tasks including delivery and servicing designs, threshold checks, tracking and Section 278 works. Who we are looking for:

You will be a self-starter, love working in a small hard-working team and have a passion for the Urban Built environment and its challenges. You will provide support to a full range of Transport Infrastructure and Public realm projects.

Specific skills and experience:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Strong analytical and critical design analysis skills
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel
  • A recently completed Civil Engineering degree, or similar technical engineering discipline
Desirable skills/awareness:
  • Experience of using engineering software such as AutoCAD

Recruitment Process:

If you are successful, a member of the recruitment team will contact you via telephone to conduct the initial interview. Applicants of interest to the recruitment team will then be asked to complete a short excel spreadsheet and written assessment task, to be undertaken over an agreed 24-hour period. Following successful completion of the assessment, candidates will then be invited to interview. Interviews are due to take place in May 2019, in London.
