Our Regional Development Division is recruiting for their Graduate Programme for 2019. Our programme offers an unrivalled breadth of experience as L&Q manages the whole development process from the purchase of land through to facilities and asset management.

We have an opportunity for a Graduate Project Manager to be based at our Head Office in Stratford, E15 with travel to sites across North London. Our scheme offers a three-year structured learning plan. We support graduates to progress in their chosen career pathway and to achieve membership of professional body (CIOB or RICS).

The Role

Graduate Project Manager – Contract Project Management

Fixed Term Contract for 3 years

Salary– Starting at £26,000 per annum

Location: Stratford, E15

Person Requirements

  • Passionate about working in development or construction

  • Strong leadership and communication skills,

·Driving licence is desirable

·Must be flexible in terms of travel

Qualification Requirements

  • Individuals must have either a RICS or CIOB accredited construction related degree
  • GCSE grade B or above in English language and maths.

Responsibility for End Results

To assist with the delivery and internal reporting functions for all externally and internally contracted projects, in line with the business plan, ensuring a focussed approach to establish excellence in quality and both internal and external customer satisfaction and meeting company objectives.

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables:

Main Accountabilities:List the major activities or functions necessary to achieve the job’s end results.The percentage of time spent on each of these should add up to 100%.



1.Leadership and management including customer service/ values - Deliver excellent customer service in line with L&Q values.


2.Strategy/ achieving objectives - Assist with the day to day delivery of complex residential projects whilst complying with all internal procedures. Support project delivery to ensure the highest levels of internal and external customer service, having regard for L&Q’s values and resident satisfaction at all times.


3.Working with others – internal - Liaise with all internal departments to ensure best practise and industry standards are maintained.Work closely with other regional teams to ensure scheme success.Collaborate with divisional colleagues and those within the wider L&Q group as required.Assist with the administration of build contracts, positively influencing and actively problem solving. Assist with the compilation of tender documents and the award of contracts. Assist in maintaining a robust document management system ensuring that the team uses it to furnish a written record of project execution.


4.Working with others – external - Assist with monitoring and reporting on the contractor’s progress against the contract programme. Assist with managing consultant teams to ensure that the contractors design and the built product are in compliance with the contract and achieves best quality


5.Budgetary responsibility - Ensure that all activities deliver ‘best value’. Ensure that departmental activities contribute to meeting divisional business plan and support delivering high quality schemes on time and within budget.


6.Compliance - Ensure H&S, regulatory & governance compliance for areas under the job holder’s control.


7.Records and systems - Maintain the necessary relevant L&Q records and systems.


8.Risks - Manage risks associated with areas under the jobholder’s control. Ensure that effective controls are in place to highlight and limit risk.
