With revenue of around £1bn, Imperial College London is one of the largest research intensive universities in the UK and has been consistently recognised as being one of the world’s top 10 universities.

The College is looking to recruit a recent graduate to its Graduate Finance Trainee Scheme, a three-year programme designed to provide the candidate with extensive finance experience and the opportunity to gain a professional accountancy qualification. The ideal candidate will be a bright, personable, self-starter with the drive to deliver excellence in Finance and support the College in achieving the academic mission.

Previous Finance Trainees have successfully progressed to a wide range of roles across the College

Duties and Responsibilities:

Finance Trainees can expect to gain both operational and project experience on a rotational programme consisting of at least three placements. Previous examples of placements include working as a Finance Business partner in one of the Faculties or commercial areas, a Treasury analyst and various Financial Accounting roles. In each placement, you can expect to gain in-depth knowledge of Finance in Higher Education, as well as exposure to senior leadership across both Finance and the wider institution.

It is intended that during the course of the training scheme all trainees will develop the skills and experience necessary to apply for a permanent position at Imperial.

Finance Trainees will be expected to complete their study for either the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification during their three years on the scheme and the College will meet the full cost of relevant training courses, exam fees, etc. (assuming first time passes). The decision on whether to qualify through CIMA or ACCA is taken by the trainee and support is available in the department to help you throughout your studies.
