L&Q communication officers are responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering a range of internal and external communication activities in support of overall business objectives.Communication officers help to promote a positive reputation of the organisation and ensure that we engage effectively with our staff, our customers, our stakeholders and the media. You’ll get involved in high-profile, organisation-wide initiatives that are critical to the continued success of L&Q, and deal with a wide range of issues from organisational strategy and positioning all the way through to operational delivery and customer service.

The Role

Communication Officer – Fixed Term Contract for 2 years

Salary – Starting at £26,000 per annum

Location – the opportunity is available at our West Ham Lane office in Stratford.

Person Requirements

  • Passionate about working in communications
  • Confident communicator with excellent writing and interpersonal skills

·Must be able to work in the UK

·Some experience of producing communications would be desirable

Qualification Requirements

  • Individuals must have a degree in a relevant discipline, preferably communications, marketing and or public relations related but we will consider any accredited degree
  • GCSE grade B or above in English language and maths.

1.Support the delivery of the corporate communications or media and external affairs strategies, working collaboratively with the Head of Communications and manager roles as required, to enable L&Q to fulfil its corporate communication objectives

2.Produce written copy, editing and proofing as required covering a wide range of communication channels and collateral including news stories, releases, publications, reports, and internal briefings

3.Support and lead on communication programmes and initiatives as required, which are consistent with and serve to enhance L&Q’s corporate identity, brand and house style

4.Support the delivery of appropriate, clear and accessible communications to our people and customers which reflect diversity, differing communication needs and maximise engagement levels amongst office based and remote workers alike

5.Work collaboratively with all internal teams including Executive Group, Board and relevant senior leaders, to assist in the delivery of effective communication strategies for L&Q

6.Liaise with external contacts as required to ensure the effective delivery of corporate communications or external affairs

7.Manage project related budgets and expenditure in line with appropriate finance protocols and ensuring full compliance with L&Q procurement standing orders and procedures
