What are the roles?

The organisation is offering 6 fantastic graduate schemes across a range of services:

1. Development & Sales

- This graduate scheme will see you rotate around the areas of Development and Sales

- The Development Team works with contractors and developers to find sites and opportunities on which to build new homes for sale and rent, to help meet the housing needs of the County

- The role will involve liaising with many organisations including Local Authorities, Solicitors, Homes England and members of the public. It also includes project management of construction projects and defects management

- Working in Sales involves marketing a variety of products including market sale, shared ownership and market rent; talking to prospective purchasers and interacting with customers regarding a variety of queries such as purchasing additional shares of their home, assistance with resales and right to buy enquiries

- You will gain exposure to all areas of Development & Sales with lots of opportunities to discuss potential future projects

Am I right for this role?

- You must be on track for a 2.1 or above in any degree subject, however you must have an interest in pursuing a career in Housing, Development or Sales

2. Housing Management (Quality of Life)

- The Quality of Life team is a housing management team. You will be on the front line, meeting residents on a daily basis and dealing with everything that relates to their tenancy and the community in which they live

- You will visit tenants in their homes and ensure that they understand their tenancy agreements, assisting vulnerable residents by making referrals to statutory and non-statutory agencies to find appropriate levels of support and offer advice on welfare benefits to those in financial difficulty

- You will tackle anti-social behaviour so customers can enjoy their homes and you will attend court to enforce the terms of the tenancy agreements

- You will look after estates, ensuring they are maintained and you will develop relationships with contractors for cleaning and waste management

- You will visit homes to tackle tenancy fraud and ensure homes are being maintained to an acceptable standard

Am I right for this role?

- You must be on track for a 2.1 or above in any degree subject, with particular preference to those with an interest in Housing, Health and Social Care, Sociology, Law or criminology

- You must be empathetic, assertive and have great interpersonal skills

3. Corporate Governance (Company Secretary)

- The Corporate Governance graduate scheme is a fast-track into the boardroom, offering immediate exposure to senior stakeholders

- Working across safety, planning, charity and social housing laws, you will support the administration of the company secretarial department and organise and arrange board meetings

- You will be supporting data protection assessments and dealing with compliance data breaches

- Conducting administration to ensure smooth running of board meetings, you will have the opportunity to receive your ICSA (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators) qualifications

Am I right for this role?

- You must be on track for a 2.1 or above in any degree subject

- You must have an interest in law, politics or social science

4. Finance

- This graduate scheme will see you rotate around the different areas of corporate finance including treasury, management accounting, budgeting and business planning

- There will also be the opportunity to get involved in corporate risk management and internal audit

- You will get involved in the preparation of CHP’s financial statements and external audit process

- Other areas of work will include development finance, asset accounting and stress testing

- The scheme will see you spend time in each area of the finance team with the opportunity to manage finance related projects, giving you a good grounding in finance while gaining your ACCA or CIMA qualification

Am I right for this role?

- You must be on track for a 2.1 or above in any degree subject, with particular preference for finance, accounting, maths or economics;

- You must have excellent communication skills.

5. Surveying

- Carrying out inspections and surveys of CHP’s properties on joint visits with existing surveyors, covering stock surveys, general building defects and health & safety inspections

- Supporting project managers, preparing sketches, maps, reports and descriptions of surveys to describe the work performed

- Inspecting premises and communal areas to find building faults and propose remedial actions, preparing costs for proposed work

Am I right for this role?

- You must have studied either surveying, housing or construction related degrees

- Any relevant work experience is desired

6. IT

- Changing the way CHP works and deliver services by increasing the use of online and mobile technologies

- Reviewing and replacing current technology to develop smarter ways of working, updating existing technology and systems and exploring new solutions to improve business efficiency

- Researching solutions to technical and business problems, developing integrated services and ensuring secure service delivery

Am I right for this role?

- You must be studying a technology related degree, including but not limited to computer science, electrical engineering and mathematics

- This career path would be suitable for those wanting to gain broad exposure to many different areas of IT
