Junior Developer

UK Defence Academy - Swindon

Permanent, Full time, 37 hours

Salary is £30,000 - £35,000 dependent on relevant experience and a minimum of 12 months experience is preferred . Please also note Working from home is NOT an option with this role.

Purpose of role:

Responsible for the development and maintenance of bespoke web applications, delivered primarily on a Microsoft platform, to support the complex and diverse requirements of the users. This includes all aspects of the Student Journey including the www.da.mod.uk website which uses responsive design. We are committed to implementing best practice UX/UI using the latest technologies to ensure our users have an excellent customer experience. We would like you to be part of that journey and will support you to grow and progress with your career

Main duties:

  • Application development, build and integration
  • Configuration and release management
  • Work with stakeholder groups to capture requirements
  • Contribute to the process of continual improvement to ensure that application development is carried out to best in class industry standards
  • Provide third line support including bug fixes

Skills, knowledge and experience:

Core:

  • C#
  • JavaScript
  • SQL development
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Rigorous and thorough with an attention to detail

 Desirable:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills along with good interpersonal skills
  • Desire to learn new skills
  • Entity Framework
  • LINQ
  • JQuery

SC Clearance will be required and a Serco uniform will need to be worn on duty.
