From your first day with Safran you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities lasting between 3 and 6 months, that the Company can offer, this is combined with a specific training plan coordinated by Safran University.

In 2019 Safran’s graduate scheme offers opportunities in:

Mechanical Engineering: Minimum 2:1 MEng, BEng or MSc Degree, preferably within Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials or Systems Engineering | Accredited IMechE Programme available.

The two year Mechanical Engineering programme will provide you with the opportunity to master both technical and leadership skills. The scheme involves various placement each lasting between three and six months inside and outside of the UK. This exposure should allow you the opportunity to decide if you want a career focussing on the technical or managerial elements of Mechanical Engineering. Alongside this you will be working to our structured IMechE scheme to start working towards a Chartership in Mechanical Engineering. This role will suit Graduates who are innovative, enjoy problem solving, enjoy interacting with a range of people and are keen to make a difference within aerospace engineering.

Manufacturing Engineering: Minimum 2:1 Manufacturing, Production, Mechanical Engineering Degree | Accredited IMechE Programme available.

The two year Manufacturing Engineering programme will provide you with the opportunity to master both technical and leadership skills. The scheme involves various placements each lasting between three and six months inside and outside of the UK. This should allow you the opportunity to decide if you want a career focussing on the technical or managerial elements of Manufacturing Engineering. This programme will expose you to various manufacturing processes from planning, designing, set up, modifying, optimising and monitoring manufacturing processes that deliver high quality and cost effective products for our customers. This role will suit Graduates who are innovative, enjoy problem solving, enjoy interacting with a range of people and are keen to make a difference within aerospace engineering.

Process Engineering Minimum 2:1 Engineering Degree

The two year Process Engineering programme will provide you with the opportunity to engage in the world of Special Processing. The scheme involves various placements, each lasting between three and six months inside and outside of the UK. This will allow you the opportunity to experience the Various Special processes and applications used on our products; Heat Treatment, Surface Finishing, Paint Applications, Non Destructive Testing and Shot Peening – All unique methods with their own Technical requirements and capabilities. This programme will expose you to various roles and responsibilities which are required from a Special Process Engineer, such as the technical support and management during the manufacturing cycle, Process improvement via the integration of the latest and best equipment available and international benchmarking of best practises within the industry. This role will suit Graduates who are innovative, enjoy problem solving, enjoy interacting with a range of people and like a dynamic, varied work environment.

Facilities Minimum of a 2:1 Degree, preferably in Business, Facilities or Engineering

The two year Facilities programme will provide you with the opportunity to master both technical and leadership skills. The scheme involves various placements each lasting between three and six months inside of the UK at our various Safran Sites. This should allow you the opportunity to decide if you want a career focussing on the technical or managerial elements of Facilities organisation.

This programme will expose you to various aspects of the Facilities organisation from managing projects, planning, costings, regulatory requirements, supplier management, modifying and optimising current processes and continuous improvement that deliver a high quality and cost effective service to our customers. This role will suit Graduates who are innovative, enjoy problem solving, enjoy interacting with a range of people and are keen to make a difference within an aerospace organisation. 

Purchasing & Supply Chain Minimum of a 2:1 Degree, any subject considered | CIPS study support offered. 

The two year Purchasing & Supply Chain programme gives you the opportunity to help improve Safran’s competitive position, by effecting improvements to supplier cost, quality, & delivery performance. Across several of Safran’s UK business units and / or in Safran Corporate offices in Paris, you will have the opportunity to work with both direct & indirect suppliers. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and suppliers, you will add value by identifying opportunity for cost reduction or/and service level improvements. You will use and develop your negotiation skills in a demanding industry. The role will suit candidates with excellent communication skills who enjoy analysis & development of plans, then implementing them within timescales.
