Graduate Supportability Engineer

As a Leonardo Graduate Supportability Engineer you will have the opportunity to embark upon a wide and varied career, as Supportability Engineering covers areas such as Training, Integrated Logistic Support, Technical Publications and also Field Support Services. Within each of these disciplines you will interface with internal and external customers to provide complex technical advice in support of multi million pound projects worldwide.

The MOD places a high emphasis on supportability throughout the Acquisition and Sustainability phases therefore Supportability Engineers are required to support all Leonardo projects and can influence areas such as Through life Support, Spares, Design and Cost. Within this discipline your opinion and insight will be respected and sought after making you a valuable member of the engineering community

Through the Graduate Development programme you will work closely with experienced Supportability Engineers who will provide you with the support and tools required to enable you to progress through all the disciplines.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Strive to develop an understanding of the tools utilised by Supportability Engineers by attending both internal and external courses.
  • Ensuring that the current capability meets the program needs and delivers the future capability required by the business.
  • Working closely with the Supportability Engineers and Projects to continuously improve programme performance and identify future opportunities.
  • Contribute in supporting bid submissions in both technical input and review, whilst providing input in both the team's discussions and decision making processes.
  • Become conversant with a wide range of military standards and practices as directed by the Project Lead.
  • Be prepared to work within numerous disciplines across the breadth of Supportability Engineering

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

  • You must be able to satisfy the necessary security clearance for the role applied for and meet a minimum of 5 years permanent residency in the UK.
  • All our roles require predicted minimum of an upper second class honours degree in a relevant discipline such as Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer & Network Technology or Project Design & Development or a higher degree such as a MEng, MSc. or PhD.
  • Has an understanding that the boundaries are always moving and with a desire to keep learning and contribute as a team 
  • A constructive innovator in his/her own right.
  • Possess an ability to communicate clearly to negotiate and listen.
